Brief synopsis:
The life of the Färber family is thrown into upheaval by a bizarre accident in which the mother dies. While Markus clings to the past and avoids coming to terms with the loss of his wife, his fifteen year-old daughter Kim fleas to Denmark with Alex, a tough guy who has dropped out of school. Together with his mother Gerlinde and her vivacious carer Paula, Markus sets off in search of his daughter, and at the same undertakes a journey of self-discovery.
Note:
Reading the draft of the novel by Gernot Gricksch, "La vita non è per i codardi" (Life is not for cowards), it was like love at first sight, or rather, love at first reading. This story dares to grapple with important issues such as "impermanence", "pain" and "death" with great ease and verve, something that happens, unfortunately, only very rarely in Germany. Through humour, "La vita non è per codardi" allows us to deal with intensely uncomfortable but important issues, which we usually try to avoid. A serious illness in my family made me realise that you can lose the people you love from one day to the next. The tone of "La vita non è per i codardi" strives to convey a delicate sense of humour basically based on realism; one that is not ashamed of the darker sides of life.

Brief synopsis:
Tbilisi in the early nineties. In the lives of families in the old part of the city, everyone in their own way has to come to terms with the changes that have taken place in their city. Maia's eldest son Giorgi is running away from her, while her youngest son, Datuna, a young and talented pianist, has to cope with the violence that is gradually becoming a part of their daily lives. In the building opposite, another tragedy: Datuna's young friend Achil has lost his grandfather in the war. The old man is sick and bedridden.
Note:
I grew up in Georgia in the early nineties, the time of the fall of the Soviet Union and the independence of the Republic of Georgia, when the collective enthusiasm for newly-won freedom would soon become a long, dark and difficult tunnel created by the chaos and the economic crisis. This chaos has scarred our collective memory and burned us with painful secrets. This is the context that served as the background to my story of a generation. It took me a while to realise just how much we have been affected by the transition period. How could we build a life for ourselves in a world where the rules changed every day, dictated by the whims of a few corrupt figures involved in a constant battle for power? The decision to make this film was driven by a desire to expose the remaining corrupt elements that still exist in Georgia today.

Brief synopsis:
On a cold winter day Sergey Sobolev, a Major in a local police station, is driving to the hospital where his wife is about to give birth to their child. He is immensely happy but is driving too fast and hits a boy on the roadside, killing him. Now the major has two choices: go to jail or hide the crime. Sobolev decides to make a deal with his conscience and calls a colleague to get him out of the situation. But matters get complicated when Sobolev finally changes his mind and tries to pay for his deed ... but by now it is too late
Note:
What happens when one day you make a mistake that destroys your life? Would you be ready to pay the consequences, even if it ruins the happiness of your family? Would you be prepared to kill someone to hide that mistake? All the characters in this film have to choose whether or not to cross the line, which means you –as well as your loved ones – make have to pay the price. And after all, the Major is just an ordinary man. The idea for the film came from an incident that happened in Russia on 19 February 2010. On that day, Major Yevsukov of the militia (the Russian police) shot nine people in a supermarket. This event trigger something in society and detonated a series of incidents driven by accumulated hatred for the law enforcement authorities. But a story that was originally supposed to serve as proof of the wickedness of the police system, eventually evolved into the controversial story of a person with authority. Any civilian could find himself in the same situation as this person. And basically we, society, who make demands of the authorities, complain about things that are part of the imperfections of each of us. In a way, the Major represents the problems of Russian society as a whole. But he shows in a way that is contrary to what society expects. The people who hate the authorities often forget that are in power are normal people, not alien monsters.

Brief synopsis:
The film tells the story of Kasia, Asia and Piotr. The women live together and run a small house-cleaning agency, for times when the owners move away or die. Piotr, who has recently left his wife and his job, competes with Kasia for the affection of Asia. Tensions mount and emotions are at bursting point but no one is ready to make the next move, opting instead on the side of caution rather than risk confrontation. They try to maintain this delicate balance, but inevitably, emotions cannot be suppressed forever – something has to come out.
Note:
The idea behind the project is to enable young talent to get started. It's a new approach to filmmaking, involving micro financing. The story and the vision of the filmmakers develops alongside an assessment of the production budget. We have a 'can-do' ethos, so we do not take a blinkered, relativistic approach but instead face the challenge of achieving results. Inspired by independent film, our goal is to deliver value productions with minimum budget films.
