Delia lives in Bologna and is an illustrator. She has to get back to Naples after the terrible news that her mother committed suicide, drowning herself. But Delia doesn’t believe it; she absolutely doesn’t have reason to believe that her mother could have done an extreme action like that. So she starts a research to reconstruct her mother’s last period of life and while she does it, she receives strange anonymous phone calls. Ruthless memories come up to her mind and will lead her to desist from finding out the truth. Great interpretation from Bonaiuto and great psychological introspection in Martone’s direction. The film presented at Cannes Film Festival awarded three David di Donatello prizes, plus others Golden Globes, Grolle d’oro, Golden Ciak and a Silver Ribbon for the actress. Public success.
