Thomas Stuber was born in Leipzig in 1981. Since 2002, he has worked on several movies and television productions as a screenwriter and assistant director. From 2004 to 2011 he studied screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. While completing her studies, he received numerous awards for his short film, Es geht uns gut (We're Fine, 2006) and for Teenage Angst (2008), the latter invited to the Berlin Film Festival. Together with Clemens Meyer, Thomas Stuber was nominated for the German Screenplay Award for A Heavy Heart in 2014, and won the award the following year with In den Gängen (In the Aisles, 2015).
