Toni Servillo

He was born in Afragola on 25 January 1959. He became passionate about Theater from an early age. At the end of the seventies he was one of the founders of the Teatro Studio in Caserta. In 1985 he joined the Falso Movimento group where he met Mario Martone and with him he founded Teatri Uniti. The cinema begins with Martone in Death of a Neapolitan mathematician, Rasoi and Rehearsals for war. Gets great notoriety acting in The Girl by the Lake by Andrea Molaioli, a film that has received many David di Donatello awards. Then there is the collaboration with Paolo Sorrentino, in One Man Up and The Consequences of love. In 2008, a double success with Claudio Garrone's Gomorra and with Paolo Sorrentino's Il divo. He still plays for Mario Martone in Noi credevamo and with Sorrentino in The Great Beauty that gives him international notoriety. Always measured and capable of acting with skill, very different roles have the ability to move from comic or grotesque roles to dramatic roles, becoming one of the most important cinema actors of the last thirty years.
