di Krzysztof Kieslowski (Pol, 1988, 58') v.it. gio 10 h 17,50 After many years of happy marriage to Hanka, Roman is diagnosed with impotence. He is very disheartened but his wife does not seem particularly upset because she maintains that in a marriage only feelings count. Although he trusts her completely, Roman becomes jealous and starts spying on Hanka. He discovers that she does have lover- a young physics student named Marius. After an unpleasant and humiliating scene for both of them, Roman forgives Hanka. She promises not to lie to him again. After this reconciliation they talk about adopting a child, and decide in the meantime that a brief separation would be salutary. But when Roman learns that Marius has gone to the same holiday destination as Hanka, he again feels betrayed and attempts suicide, not knowing that this time his wife is blameless.
