In many neighbourhoods of Naples the gathering of trees for the Sant’Antonio feast day bonfire is a tradition, a ritual, an adventurous game that street kids hand down from generation to generation. For the outside observer, it may just seem like random rowdiness and hooliganism until late at night, culminating in a dangerous fire too close to buildings.
We wanted to recount what happens in many streets of the city in January, trying as much as possible to take the kids' point of view.
