Justine Triet is a graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Paris. Since then, he has directed a couple of short films that deal with the place of the individual within a group: Sur place (2007) was filmed in the amidst protests held by over 2,000 students; Solferino (2009) was shot during the French presidential election of 2007; in her next work Vilaine mauvaise fille garçon (2012), Justine Triet gave an amazing account of life in São Paulo, Brazil and received many awards. Her first feature film, La Bataille de Solferino (2013) is a mixture of documentary (the recording of the second round of the French elections for the President, live on the streets of Paris) and fiction (the eventful life of a divorced couple). The film was critically acclaimed as one of the best works from the recent new wave of French directors.
