Cristina Comencini

One of the most important Italian directors from the 1980s till today. She was born in Rome on the 8th of May 1956. Daughter of the great director Luigi Comencini and the princess of Partanna Giulia Grifeo, sister of Francesca Comencini (director too). After the degree in Economy and Commerce in 1978 she debuted in television as co-writer of her father (among which Cuore and La storia). In 1988 the first film Zoo with a very young and good Asia Argento. Other successes followed in the 1990s, like I divertimenti della vita privata (with Giancarlo Giannini and Vittorio Gassman) and Và dove ti porta il cuore (with Margherita Buy). In 1998 she directed Diego Abatantuono and Stefania Sandrelli in Matrimoni and in 2000 Michele Placido and Laura Morante in Liberate i pesci!. Virna Lisi performed in Il più bel giorno della mia vita and Latin Lover. Other actors directed by Comencini: Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Stefania Rocca, Fabio Volo, Ambra Angiolini, Claudia Pandolfi and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
