Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti was born in Cuba in 1961. After a short film in 1990 entitled Oscurosrinocerontesenjaualados…muy a la moda (Very fashionable… dark rhinos in a cage), he made his debut in the fiction film with Nada (Nothing) in 2001, a story set inside an office overloaded by bureaucracy. The film won prizes at the Havana Festival and in Cartagena. Viva Cuba is of 2005 and participated in the Festivals of Mar del Plata and Chicago.
