Álvaro Fernández Armero was born in Madrid on March 6, 1969. After he studied Philosophy, he began film director with the short film The Merry-Go-Round, entirely shot in the Madrid subway. In 1994 his first film came, the comedy It’s All Lie he is nominated for Best Director at the Goya Awards. The cast collects some of the most important promises of Spanish cinema. He is also director of a documentary about the life of motorcyclist Ángel Nieto, titled Ángel Nieto: 12 + 1 with which he won a César Agüí Prize. For a few years he worked in tv series like Doctor Mateo or Con el culo al aire in 1014 he returned to the cinema with Sidetracked.
