Giulio Santelia is an old man, a professional poker player, forgetting his lawyer profession and dedicating all himself to a love affair with Claudio. His daughter, Valeria, who has not lived with him for some time and who has raised her son Marco by herself. She adores Claudio while she doesn’t have a good relationship with her father. When Claudio becomes seriously ill, all the love is enclosed by Giulio in a rose, brought to his bedside every morning. For Claudio stops playing poker, but when the money ends, Giulio is forced to dismiss the gardener, the cook and even sell the furniture, staging the perfect game bluff in their home in Alghero.
