Rajko Grlić was born in Zagreb on 2 September 1947 and graduated in direction at the FAMU in Prague, together with the Bosnian director Emir Kusturica. As a director and screenwriter, he made 11 feature films, including Bravo Maestro (1978) with whom he obtained a nomination for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival as well as a Golden Arena for Best Actor for Rade Šerbedžija at the Pula Film Festival. He also created How to Make Your Movie: An Interactive Film School, a multimedia direction program presented at the most important Festivals, from Cannes to San Francisco, proclaimed as Best World Multi-media in 1998 and now used in many schools all over the world. . Rajko Grlić is the artistic director of the Motovun Film Festival (Croatia).
