From Paul Laverty (screenwriter for Ken Loach) the story of Alma, a girl who lives and works in the family farm determined to follow the tradition of her grandfather. The old man, however, since his sons have sold the millenarian olive tree, does not speak and almost does not eat anymore. Alma, in full Loach style, decides to go and recover the tree, even if now it is owned by a German multinational that consider the tree their symbol. Helped by his friend Rafa, Uncle Alka and the entire village where she lives, Alma sets off for a heroic feat, creating a touching and moving fable, full of ideals and humanity.
