Wałęsa. Man of Hope is the story of a contemporary hero, Lech Wałęsa. A story that begins with Oriana Fallaci's interview with the future Nobel Prize in her apartment in Gdańsk. The long conversation between the two forms the narrative fabric of the film. Around the questions that no one had ever dared to make to the legendary leader of the "Solidarity" movement, there is the character of a man with great charisma and exceptional political flair emerges. The story of a hero towards political maturity is intertwined with the story of his family life. Behind a strong man like Wałęsa, there is a woman even stronger than him, his wife Danuta. Politics and love, fear and sense of security, the need of submission and the desire of rebellion. The movie, in the same way of the life of Lech Wałęsa, is full of contrasts.
