La storia ruota attorno al 57enne Philippe Lemesle, dirigente di un gruppo industriale americano, alle prese con problemi con sua moglie, che è in procinto di lasciarlo perché l'uomo che ama si è lentamente lasciato consumare dalla pressione del suo lavoro.
