Roman Polański, was born August 18th 1933, in Paris with Jewish origin. The religious obstacle causes the family to move to Poland. There, under the Nazi influence, they were locked in the ghetto of the city. Only Roman and his dad managed to escape. Unfortunately, her mother was deported to the death camp in Auschwitz, where she dies. At the end of the war, Roman Polański studied acting, Drama and director at the Łódź School of Cinema, where he graduated in 1959. The Andrzej Wajda's A Generation film in 1955 marks his debut as actor. At only 22 yo, he is behind the camera with Bycicle a short film. Then he directs the first impressive feature film: The Knife In Water, Oscar as Best Foreign Film. After France and England, during the US stage will produce Rosemary's Baby, named as Best Horror film of all time. After an invaluable career, in 2002, the Oscar Prize: The Pianist. In 2005 comes the transposition of the novel by Charles Dickens Oliver Twist. The film screened at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in 2013 is Venus in Fur.
