Flanders today. Demester is a young breeder who has sexual relations with Barbe, of whom maybe is in love. The monotonous life in the fields and the apathetic sexual meetings between the two are interrupted by the arrival of the postcard for the front. Demester, along with two other local boys, Mordac and Blondel, leave for a distant conflict in the Middle East. The horrors, the fears and the misery of war will tragically transform feelings and bonds.
