[6]Brief synopsis:
11 September 2001 - in Naples it's a day like any other, but an event is about to erupt that will be forever etched in the city's collective memory. Everyone is wrapped up in their own afairs, until the distant tragedy finally becomes part of their lives, with different outcomes. The calamitous event that shook America is almost eclipsed by the daily routines that mark everyone's lives. The dramatic spectacle of a media event contrasts with the solitude in which daily life unfolds. This makes even the slightest tragic note more harsh and bitter.

[14]Brief synopsis:
A Ballad for Tex examines the relationship between cinema and theatre. The film tells the story of aspiring actress Elizabeth, a housewife trapped in an unhappy marriage. Her ability to dream allows to take refuge in the colours of a painting that comes to life with the notes of a plaintive ballad. The film takes an experimental approach and develops by openly mixing theatrical and filmic codes and conventions.

[55]Brief synopsis:
This short film on the body emerged from a series of meetings conducted by documentarist Silvano Agosti. The conceptual nature of the work stems from the video-performance criteria adopted; no post-production effects have been applied. The movement of petals and leaves is determined by the natural pressure of the flowers on the body.
"In a million years, when they find your film, there will be a clone standard that will seek to reproduce the anatomy of your body. Each trace we leave is a possible and quintessential road towards the rebirth of our selves."

O 'Marchese - The Story of a Homeless, is a journey into the world of homeless people. Its aim is to redeem the image of such people, so often denigrated by society. The short film tells the story of a "tramp" (known as 'The Marquis' on account of his noble origins), and a bunch of kids who have fun victimising him. One of the boys, Tonino, turns out to be the nephew of the Marquis. The kids are prompted to reconsider their notions of these people, who are basically the same as the rest of us.

The 1950s. A fabulous Vico Equense is the unrivalled backdrop to an impossible love story. Antonio is a painter, introspective and quiet in character. Marie his wife, a person who arouses complicated feelings, is a muse of simplicity. Ciro, a fisherman. The three are linked by a love judged impossible and wrong; an unconventional love, a love that will bring the characters into sharp conflict with the Catholic morality and conservative mores of the time.

[147]Brief synopsis:
On the roof of a building, a lone, melancholic man ekes out a precarious existence and shelters from the scorching heat of the summer as best he can. With some trepidation, he decides to dust off the old trumpet that he hasn't played for a long time. On the roof next door, his invasive and noisy neighbour prepares his grill, TV and inflatable swimming pool to enjoy the national football team playing a match. With each of them confined to their own roof, like two close but opposing worlds, a silent conflict is sparked off, culminating in a remorseless and final showdown.

[152]Brief synopsis:
Gli Uraniani tells a tragically contemporary story. A "burning issue" story and yet that one happened a long time ago, told with through the style and means of that time. A story that nevertheless could not have been represented thus at that very time. Not a nostalgic divertissement or an exercise in style, but a poetic/political short circuit, a mirror of that close combat fought during the last century between the denial and acceptance of homosexuality.

[160]Brief synopsis:
Fefè has an unassuming but pleasant family scenario, with a beautiful wife and a six year old daughter. Beyond the walls of the house, however, Fefè has to reckon with his use of a criminal gang as labourers. An unusual night at the port of Naples spent waiting for a meeting with a rival gang proves decisive for Fefe's future. His father, now long-deceased, had been an inexhaustible stevedor. The port evokes ever-present memories of his father and ignites unexpected hopes of an honest and decent life, close to the purity of his private family life.

[169]Brief synopsis:
Naples, 1753. In his workshop, sculptor Giuseppe Sammartino is struggling against the fear of failure. When Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero, commissioned him to complete the Veiled Christ after the untimely death of Genoese artist Antonio Corradini, the sculptor was seized by sudden creative paralysis.
Sammartino, who until then was known only for the creation of shepherds for Nativity mangers, faces the most arduous of battles: the completion of a work whose perfection would surpass the beauty of Michelangelo's Pietà.
