An internationally known Neapolitan sculptor and painter, Lello Esposito has for thirty years worked on the city and its symbols – Pulcinella, the mask, the egg, the skull, the volcano, San Gennaro, the talismanic horn – creating an original blend of tradition and experimentation. He was born in 1980, in Rome. He began his artistic career as a musician, alternating from the very beginning musical and film studies. From 2006 to 2012 he made seven short films and then made his debut in 2014 with the first feature film, Last summer, which won a prize for best debut at the Rome Festival plus two other prizes, one of which was at the Annecy festival in France. Likemeback is his second film.

raccontare in video
la propria storia. Un’indagine sui sentimenti di profonda intimità, che partendo dalla lettura
della scrittura privata
precede il momento dell’intervista. Ogni soggetto è stato incontrato singolarmente, in uno scenario
unico, tutti
gli incontri possiedono una forte connotazione concettuale e videoperformativa.
È sera. Un uomo è seduto alla scrivania intento a scrivere una lettera a sua figlia Michela. L’inchiostro scorre sulle pagine bianche, il tempo scivola veloce, troppo veloce, come se quella lettera fosse stata scritta per mesi, per anni. Il vecchio dagli occhi lucidi e stanchi scrive di essere stato abbandonato da tutti, ma soprattutto da lei.

Pietro is a young giornalist of Italian origin, living in Toronto. On hearing of the death of his mother, he returns to Reggio Calabria to bury her beside her husband Antonio, who had died at the time of Pietro's birth. In Calabria he gets to know his parents' friends and learns his father had died during the 1970 Reggio Calabria revolt – the protest that broke out in support of the city's right to be regional capital and to have proper economic development.
