Susy is a prostitute in Milan and one day she learns that one of her clients, Baron Colletta of Sant'Omero, made a will before to die, leaving her a castle. When she arrives at the Calabrian village to receive the inheritance everyone thinks she is the widow of the baron. The property is tempting to many, including the mayor, Peppino De Filippo. Everyone would like to grab it by paying little money because an industrial project is underway to enrich the village and especially those who administer it. But the woman is not stupid and prepares a plan to get advantage by the situation.

They meet up in a place in between mountains, which her father has shown her. This is not a romantic film however. Her motivation are quite different. She suffers from love for an absent father, he is the school freak and wishes he were noticed more by his classmates. Both they come from families that communicate little and they are victim in a world they don’t listen to and does not listen to them.

Naples, 1753. In his workshop, sculptor Giuseppe Sammartino is struggling against the fear of failure. When Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero, commissioned him to complete the Veiled Christ after the untimely death of Genoese artist Antonio Corradini, the sculptor was seized by sudden creative paralysis.
