This is more like a non-format. Nothing is decided beforehand and everything can be changed from one episode to another without any constraints on style – from the characterisation of the protagonists to the music, the genre and subject matter. The only defining features are the headgear of the two brothers and their obvious bungling of any activity they try their hand at, none of which could be defined as work.

La storia inizia quando la nazionale femminile della Libia è al suo ottavo anno di vita e ancora non è mai riuscita a disputare una partita. La rivoluzione ha portato grandi speranze in Libia, come in tutto il mondo arabo e le giocatrici aspettano dalla Federazione l’ok per la trasferta in Germania, che non arriverà mai. La situazione politica, intanto, si inasprisce. La guerra civile scoppia e, in un clima di odio e incertezza, le sportive affrontano la vita di tutti i giorni con combattività e humour: tenacia e resistenza sono la loro caratteristica.
Girato per cinque anni, Freedom Fields segue tre donne e la loro squadra di football nella Libia post-rivoluzione, mentre il paese scende in guerra civile e le botteghe dell'autoparco della Primavera araba iniziano a svanire. Attraverso gli occhi di questi attivisti accidentali, vediamo la realtà di un Paese in transizione, dove le storie personali di amore e aspirazioni si scontrano con la Storia. Un film intimo sulla speranza, la lotta e il sacrificio in una terra dove i sogni sembrano un lusso. Una lettera d'amore alla sorellanza e al potere della squadra.
He was born December 28th 1888 in Blelefeld, Germany and died March 11th 1931 in Santa Barbara, California. After the family moved to Kassel in 1882, he studied philology and the history of art. After the First World War where he fights as a lieutenant and pilot he shoots the first two films in Berlin. Just one, Satan, arrived to us with a fragment of three minutes. After other films that also went lost, he directed in 1921 The Haunted Castle, the first film of fear in which he ventured. In 1922 he made his first masterpiece Nosferatu.
